2008: November 4

I initially announced my campaign on March 6, 2007, but decided to focus more on my race for State Senate last year. Reluctant to run for U.S. President, I put off any serious efforts of running. After missing several self-imposed deadlines for announcing -- finally filmed my youtube video on April 30 and spent all of May1 working on the video, website, and updating older websites. Currently, I am not accepting donations but if you like the Free Party Platform -- start your own local party to support candidates that support the Party Platform and spread the word to your family and friends. Citizen initiated participation is the basis for success of the Free Party. If I speak for you, I need your help. Read my '08 Campaign Blog.

2007: November 6

Last year I ran for Virginia State Senate, 9th District -- representing Henrico County, Charles City County, and City of Richmond, Virginia. Democratic primary winner, Donald McEachin was the only opposition. This is the first time my name appeared on the ballot for a state wide office. The experience of my previous campaigns has taught me a lot. This was the first time there had been a challenger for the seat in 40 years.

2006: November 7

In 2006, I ran for Richmond City Council in the 5th District, currently represented by Mr. Marty Jewell. I collected the 125 signatures required and got my name on the ballot -- this was the first time I'd gotten my name on the ballot. Despite spending only $386.95, I won 903 votes.

2005: November 8

Write-In for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia.

2004: November 2

Mayor, City of Richmond. In Richmond's first popularly elected Mayor's race, I thought it was important for Richmonders to have an alternative choice for Mayor. With just three weeks before election day, I announced my candidacy as a write-in candidate. In general, the campaign was ignored by many including the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

2002: November 5

I missed getting on the ballot by just 1 signature in 2002. After taking a little time off, I decided to run as a write-in candidate. The incumbent in this election was Mr. Sa'ad El-Amin, who later ended up going to jail for tax evasion.
