Read Project Vote Smart's Survey of Candidate's political views. Silver Persinger vs. Donald McEachin who doesn't want his views known.

I see Mr. McEachin also didn't care to respond to the survey sent by the Virginia Catholic Conference.

Nor did Mr. McEachin do a very good job responding to the Candidate Survey from Virginia21, View McEachin's and view my response.

These surveys reflect an essential difference between us -- I am for open government and open politicians.

Local NPR Station, WCVE FM Interviews Candidate

On the morning of Oct. 11, 2007 at 7:30 am Richmond NPR station, WCVE, featured an interview with me. Below is an edited version of the recording where I took out all the "ummms." I guess I was nervous. I didn't know what the questions were going to be in advance so it really was a spontaneous interview. I especially wasn't expecting the question about legalizing marijuana. Listen to the interview by pressing the play button.

Here is an interview conducted by Jennifer Massey of Comcast at their studio on the Boulevard in Richmond. It was my first experience being in a televison studio. I had to untuck my shirt so they could run a mic under my shirt. 5 minutes.

Dear Voter,

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my campaign. I will keep my comments as brief as possible.

I believe our economic and social systems are in need of a massive overhaul. To get a good idea of the direction I think government ought to move, read the Free Socialist Party Platform which I have written in order to clarify my positions. Many of the reforms proposed in the platform are national issues but I believe a clear explanation of my personal political beliefs will help you understand my philosophy of government and economics. You may read my proposed state-wide campaign platform, here.

We live in a Capitalist Society and as a result we live under a system of government which sanctions and endorses the economic system which allows a very few to be very rich and many of us to be very poor. This system of government is neither natural nor preordained from God. It is an arbitrary system created by selfish men eaten up with an insatiable appetite of GREED FOR MONEY. As it says in the Bible, Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

VIEW MR. McEACHIN'S CAMPAIGN DONATIONS Lots of corporate donations, laywers, realtors, lobbyists, etc.

I have donated only $241.25 to my campaign thus far, and I only spent $10.75 to get my name on the ballot.

I am for THE PEOPLE, the great majority of the public -- men and women, the working and the unemployed. Our society places too much emphasis on money and materialism and doesn't value human life. I want a better life for myself and for others. I want to be truly free and secure. I am a politician because this is the only method I see for possible change.

Be sure to explore the buttons at the top of this page to learn more about volunteering, making a monetary contribution, my platform, links to previous campaign websites, events, and more.

If you are interested in helping my campaign or have some questions, please give me a call at 804-683-7845 or email.

If you like my message, tell everyone you know to get out and vote on November 6! That's the power of Democracy.

Respectfully yours, Silver Persinger

If you've got 3 and 1/2 hours to spare, watch this video about our sham economic system.

I believe that the best way to achieve democracy is through Voter education. Make an informed decision, learn about my opponent, Mr. McEachin.
