OPEN GOVERNMENT • EXPANDING DEMOCRACY • CITIZEN CONTROL OF GOVERNMENT • MORE FREEDOM • MORE HUMANE GOVERNMENT • LIMITING CORPORATE INFLUENCE IN OUR GOVERNMENT

Dear Voter,

My name shall appear on the ballot for the office of House of Delegates for the 71st District in the November 3, 2009 election. This will mark my third time on the ballot as a candidate. I ran for City Council in 2006 and for State Senate in 2007. I have always run as an independent candidate because I do not support the principles of the the Democratic or the Republican Parties. If you seek an independent, hard working, original, and creative individual to represent you; I want to be your representative.

Official 2009 House of Delegates Campaign Blog

Here is where I will blog periodically during the campaign.

Richmond City Council Blog: The Richmond Telegraph

Since January 2009, I have been video blogging the Richmond City Council in an effort to increase access to the Richmond City Council meetings, encourage citizens getting informed, and increasing interest and participation in Richmond's government. Democracy requires citizens be involved. Democracy also requires citizens to be informed of what our government is doing, saying, and thinking in order to make intelligent decisions.

Many times there are no reporters [and few if any citizens] at the committee meetings when very interesting and important issues are being discussed. For example, at a recent Public Safety Committee meeting they received their second report about the proposed plan for the new Richmond City Jail, and no other news source, besides my blog was there to document the fact. I am for increasing coverage, accountability, and educating the public.
